Two methods of Bible study are: Telescopic and Microscopic.

Microscopic: Scrutinizing every minute detail of Scripture to find the purpose, intent, and will of God.  This will lead to incomplete if not erroneous “private interpretation” of significant Scriptures while failing to see the entire scope of His Word.

Telescopic: A panoramic sweep of God’s Word giving the student a broader and more inclusive insight and understanding of what God is trying to get across to us.  It prevents the formation of doctrinal issues based on incomplete and inconclusive information which will not ‘work’ in the life of the believer.

Microscopic leads to teachings such as: So-called “hyper-faith”, non-biblical prosperity, a no-trials problem-free sickness-free life and the like!  These tend to please the flesh and readily gather a following.  But sadly they do not work!
